Growing up, I've been taught about so many things, but no one ever really taught me how to cope with grief<br />
<br />
Yesterday marked the 40th day of my dad's passing<br />
<br />
41 days ago – on Monday, 29 January 2018 at 5:13PM, the doctors called the time. God finally called my dad to be by His side. It was not an easy time, neither it was a surprise. Deep down in my heart I kinda knew that the day would come sooner or later but I never thought the day was finally in front of me<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/--ddPqaqkoIE/WqRM3XNHorI/AAAAAAAACY8/TAWRY9NuFrcZs8EjzgkcnLNfxrb36NyJwCEwYBhgL/s1600/GOPR0093.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="color: black;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/--ddPqaqkoIE/WqRM3XNHorI/AAAAAAAACY8/TAWRY9NuFrcZs8EjzgkcnLNfxrb36NyJwCEwYBhgL/s640/GOPR0093.jpg" width="640" /></span></a></div>

<br />
My dad was diagnosed with Nasopharynx Cancer (cancer location: behind the nose) in December 2011. He fought a hard battle with chemo and radiation early 2012 and had a good 4 years of healthy living. But in early 2016, when he did the check up in Singapore we found out there was a new activity in his nose beside the old cancer location. We were quite devastated as the doctor informed us that doing another chemo was no longer an option. So we had to find a new way and we found this radiation therapy called Cyber Knife in Tokyo. Cyber knife is one of the most advanced forms of radio surgery (radiation) — is a painless, non-invasive treatment that delivers high doses of precisely targeted radiation to destroy tumors or lesions within the body. It uses a robotic arm to deliver highly focused beams of radiation.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
At the time, everything made sense. My youngest brother was about to start his Bachelor study in Tokyo – it made things easier for us to have someone familiar with the city. After done with 3 radiation sessions, my dad could go back to Jakarta. There was no side effect at all, he could go straight back to work. After few months, we found out my dad has won the battle again.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
But I guess this cancer inside my dad's body is quite persistent (just like my dad) – in April-May 2017 we found another alarming activity in my dad's check up result, and the cancer had spread to 5 different locations around the nose and throat area.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I was like WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON? Why did it keep on happening over and over again?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My dad's doctor in Tokyo said the cyber knife treatment was still a feasible option. So of course with keeping in mind that the last cyber knife he did was a huge success with very minimal side effect, we decided to have another go at the treatment.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
However, our trip to Japan in June 2017 was our last family trip together. After completing his treatment (this time 5 cyber knife sessions), something was not quite right. He didn't feel well, he felt like masuk angin and beginning to have flu.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Starting in September 2017, the headaches started. The headaches were so acute to the point he couldn't sleep. He was on painkillers every day. But that didn't stop my dad from going to the office, attend meetings and events, etc etc. I must say he was a tough champ. He never showed to anyone outside the house that he was in pain.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: times; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; text-align: center; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px;">
<div style="margin: 0px;">
Then it got worse, he started to have trouble swallowing. My mom had to turn his food from solid to liquid. It came to the point where swallowing water is a tough job. Every time something went down his throat, he started coughing and throwing up. </div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
And then it just got worse and worse and worse, and yet he still went to the office everyday, played golf whenever he felt he had the energy, attended monthly meetings, and even his high school reunion on his final days.</div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
It was not a pretty scene when my dad passed away, my hands were covered in his blood and I don't think I will ever recover from that. The memory sticks – I felt that his grip on my hands started to slip away, and I'm just numb.</div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
<br />
I didn't know how to cope with grief, I've read about 5 stages of grief and I think it's all mixed up. </div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
For sure, I'm not in denial. I accept and I'm okay with the way things are. I know things happen for a reason, I know he's in a better place right now, he's not feeling anymore pain, no more headaches, no more choking on his own food, so I know he's good up there. And I'm damn sure that my dad would be so pissed at us if we can't move on. So no choice other than being okay with what happened.</div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
But, there's a hole inside me, a hole that I know will never go away. I'm just trying to find a way to decorate the hole, so it will be filled with flowers and other pretty things so you can't see the hole.</div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
Those flowers come from the support of you guys. Boyfriend, best friends, even people that I don't know of.. So thank you, for giving me and my family strength. Another thing that I always think about is that I don't want to be a disappointment to my dad . He has been a great inspiration for me ad after he left – I think it's quite hard to fill into his shoes. I just want to keep his legacy alive, and not giving him a bad name.</div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
So for now, my goal is just to go day by day, just like how strong my dad was throughout his battle with cancer, that's how strong I want to be, for myself and my family. I need to be strong, stay positive, and keep moving forward. I'm scared my dad get angry with me hahaha.</div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
I believe the worst has passed and nothing could happen will be worse than this. I hope when the time comes, everyone of you can be strong and have a big heart to let things go and move forward with your life. And remember that I'll keep you in my prayers, so don't hesitate to talk to me!</div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
What kills mehe most right now is how I miss him so terribly much. I still don't know how to cope with this, because this part is hard and damn tiring. So tired that everytime I see picture I cry, it's not that I'm crying because I'm sad, it's like out of no where my tears started to fall and it's like an emotional rollercoaster. Like can I just miss him without having my tears fall down like a freaking niagara?</div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin: 0px;">
I miss him cutting some fruits for me. I miss his fast and furious style driving. I miss his anger. I miss him complaining. I miss our annual family trip. I miss how I can abuse him with selfies and bunch of snapchat filters. I miss talking to him. I miss him.</div>
<div style="color: black; margin: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; color: black; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qYNljQk6jUs/WqRM2Z5_CYI/AAAAAAAACY4/KSXsEz2g5usNRnk_TlNaDByepMsiDXUswCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_0391.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="354" data-original-width="472" height="480" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qYNljQk6jUs/WqRM2Z5_CYI/AAAAAAAACY4/KSXsEz2g5usNRnk_TlNaDByepMsiDXUswCLcBGAs/s640/IMG_0391.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="color: black; margin: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: black;">
So yeah, I think that's all right now. Here I am right now, in my room alone (first time since he passed away)... couldn't sleep. Staring at this pictures of him cutting us some mangoes. Will update more soon xx</div>

1. I started 2017 with..<b> <a href="http://instagram.com/_kerokoo">KEROKOO</a></b> Photoshoot. Definitely a major highlight. Finally launched my resortwear collection with <a href="http://instagram.com/mkoesnadi">Michelle Koesnadi</a>, after months of preparation, the collections were finally launched in March, but we did the shoots in January 2017, 3rd January to be exact. As for the kids shoot, we did it on 20 January. It was a fun photoshoot, but seeing our vision came to life – even more awesome!!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2. Went to my first <b>CELINE Press Open House </b>for Summer 2017 Collections in Singapore. Stayed at The Warehouse Hotel – loved it! Met some new friends, the experience was something. I remember when I was there, I felt so content more than ever. It was like something, wow.. I'm finally here, at one of my favorite brands' press day, giving my media friends a tour. I felt I'm finally here at the point of my career that I thought is still quite far away</div>

6. Went to the most west and north part of Indonesia. Travelled to <b>Pulau Weh </b>with the usual diving crew. One of the best dive places ever, I wish there could have been more legit and nicer resort soon, I will definitely travel back there again. Why? You got the best KW of Raja Ampat and Komodo and Bali all in one place. And the view is beautiful. You just can't wear bikinis and sleep in the same room with the opposite sex.<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DMy4kCQwnzA/WltnrNczrkI/AAAAAAAACWw/p2ZWGLd5xQoKU11DLQzU22JOcjm7F520gCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_2023.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DMy4kCQwnzA/WltnrNczrkI/AAAAAAAACWw/p2ZWGLd5xQoKU11DLQzU22JOcjm7F520gCLcBGAs/s640/IMG_2023.PNG" width="640" /></a></div>

7. <b>MARC JACOBS Plaza Indonesia Store Opening</b> in May – so blessed to have so many people attended the store opening. We planned the event on a limited time, but managed to pull it off. YAS. On the same month, I went to Singapore for <b>MARC JACOBS Fall Winter 2017 Press Day</b>, although drama happened, but managed. What I learned is always to know where your passport is. and oh, I joined my first calligraphy workshop by the one and only <a href="http://instagram.com/truffypi">@truffypi </a>aka Veronica Halim</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

12. 12 October 2017 – <b>Marc Jacobs #MusicMarc Jakarta Edition Party</b>. When people said it's the party of the year, I'm just happy and smiling from ear to ear. Hi everyone! It's been quite a while since my blog post have so busy with work – mian! However, this month is a very special month because finally.. My latest collaboration with <a href="http://raquellingerie.com/">RAQUEL</a> is out!!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rjcZOc-Q5lQ/WhKCgff4V-I/AAAAAAAACU8/C_40HI83rDkfkN_xp7LuyKX61Ic0yMJ7ACLcBGAs/s1600/RAQUEL%2BACTIVE%2BCAMPAIGN%2BNOV%2B11.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1081" data-original-width="1600" height="432" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rjcZOc-Q5lQ/WhKCgff4V-I/AAAAAAAACU8/C_40HI83rDkfkN_xp7LuyKX61Ic0yMJ7ACLcBGAs/s640/RAQUEL%2BACTIVE%2BCAMPAIGN%2BNOV%2B11.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
What is <a href="http://instagram.com/raquellingerie">Raquel</a>? Raquel is an Indonesian womenswear brand. They focus on lingerie & undergarments. Last year I was introduced to try one of their products and after that I'm hooked. I swear by it. You don't need to worry about their quality even tho they have an affordable price point, as the people behind it have been in the lingerie/underwear industry for more than 30 years, so... they definitely know what they're doing. After focusing on undergarments for a while, they decided to explore on activewear. I've been using their activewear line as well, why? Because it's affordable but with good quality. I like to look good when I work out (duh!) and it's hard on the pocket when you want lots of sportsbra from Nike or Adidas or even Lululemon. So thank God for Raquel and it's always great when you can support the locals!<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
Few things that I like the most about their products other than the price; first – stretchy and light fabric. Their sportsbra and bottoms hug your body like a glove. second – I have problems with Nike/Adidas bottoms' length. Usually, it will fall above my ankle and the selangkangan length is too short for my height. But with Raquel, everything fits just nicely.<br />
<br />
So, when Fread asked me to collaborate with Raquel I'm like HELL YEAH! After sessions of brainstorming and fittings.. We finally came to this. 3 sportsbra, 2 outerwears, and 2 bottoms. I still prefer black and grey to my sports attire. However, a dash of pink wouldn't hurt anybody (yes, I love pink).<br />
<br />
Since I have fuller chest it's also very hard for me to find the right sportsbra, nailing their take on lingerie, Raquel does not disappoint with their sportsbra. Supportive yet still stylish and not sleazy. The sportsbra collection have 3 different styles. Halter (covered chest), grey with round neckline, and black with v neckline (me and my v-necks obsession..) As for the bottoms, there will be 2 lengths, calf and ankle. I prefer exercising in long length bottoms compared to shorts. And of course, finally the outerwears are complimentary to the looks. One is sleeveless and the other one is a take of ballerina's boleros (yes, i have a secret obsession with ballerinas).<br />
<br />
For the price range... Sportsbras start from Rp 439,900, Bottoms start from Rp 549,000, and outerwears start from Rp 340,900<br />
<br />You may shop the full collection on RAQUEL site (raquellingerie.com) or <a href="http://raquellingerie.com/xkero">click here</a><br />

Hi everyone! Back with career post with me Kero.. How's everyone doing? I hope everything is well with you guys! So, before we go to the next chapter of my career journey, I want to share a bit with you guys some tips how to nail your job interviews! The list is based on my personal experiences, some are applicable for general readers, but for you fashion lova, I have some tricks up on my sleeves too.. So let's start!<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://i.pinimg.com/564x/c0/21/d4/c021d418353eef218d5879ff33ac10af.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="564" data-original-width="564" height="400" src="https://i.pinimg.com/564x/c0/21/d4/c021d418353eef218d5879ff33ac10af.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<ul>
<li style="text-align: center;"><b>RELAX</b></li>
</ul>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I know you might be nervous, zillion things are happening inside your head. You really want this job, whether you're interviewing for your first job ever or for your next career opporunity, <b>RELAX</b>. I've been to quite some job interviews, and you know what happened when I don't relax? I failed. Nothing came out of my mouth, inside my brain? nada. I didn't know what to say, I could not think, basically I didn't answer right on point.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b style="font-style: italic;">Tips: </b>Usually on your first step for job interviews, you will get interviewed by HR Dept. The questions will be about <b>you</b>. It will start with something like "<b>So, tell me about yourself</b>" What you need to do here is, <b><i>show your personality.</i></b> <b>Be confident from the start</b>. I find that it's okay to have a little fun as well, interviews don't have to be all serious. <b>Be smart and be honest</b>. Tell them what's your passion, what drives you, a bit of your education background, some trivia facts, and your goals in life.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div>
<ul>
<li style="text-align: center;"><b>BE HONEST</b></li>
</ul>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Don't lie. </b>Whether it's on paper or verbally. The world is very small already, imagine how it is in a certain industry, it becomes smaller. People will talk, whether you know them or not, so always be yourself and be proud of it. Don't lie about your previous salary or job (especially stupid ones) just to get a higher salary. Some HR would check to the company, or even ask for your salary slip! One time, I interviewed someone, and she wrote that she received X million amount (more than 2 million) as an intern, and I'm like... "GURLLLLLL" Come on, everyone knows you don't really get paid much as an intern (even sometimes you only get shopping vouchers)<br />
<br />
Keep in mind to keep things to yourself too, just like chatting with your crush, you don't want race to the end and blurt everything out. Be selective in what you say, but never lie.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<ul>
<li><b>BE SMART, BE SAVVY, and BE CREATIVE</b></li>
</ul>
<div>
One thing that you should do before you come into an interview, is to <b><u>do research</u> </b>about the <b>company </b>and the <b>job scope</b> that you're applying to. Let's say you're applying to MAP, make sure you know in general what are the brands they handle, when you got asked which MAP brands you like.. (99% of the time, people will answer ZARA), don't say brands that ARE not inside the company (it happened). As for the job scope you're applying for, <b>even when you don't have any work experience, do research – google '(job title) job scope'. It's very important you know what you're getting yourself into. </b>Show that your willingness to learn about something new</div>
<div>
<b><i><br /></i></b></div>
<div>
<b><i>Tips</i></b>: In general, you will get asked if you know anything about the job you're applying for. Example: in retail, when you apply as a marketing, you will get asked "What do you do as a marketing?" Answer like you know everything about it, even if you haven't done it before, you can always learn later on. <b><i>Be creative with your answer, think outside the box</i></b>. Companies are hiring people who <b>can bring something new to the table</b>, it's important for them to see that in YOU. Once I asked the same question to an interviewee, her answer was "we do events" and I was "uhum.. and?"<br />
<br />
After dealing with the HR, you will get interviewed with your 'user' aka the superior (there can be 2 or 3 layers even! It depends), on these steps, they will ask again about you, keep it shorter. HR will most likely briefed them already about your plus and minus. Then the users will ask more likely about experience, job scopes, more technical stuff that related to the job. <b>Charm them with your knowledge</b> and don't forget to... </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<ul>
<li><b>BE CONFIDENT</b></li>
</ul>
</div>
<div>
When asked, answer with confidence. And don't take too long to think, although it's hard to do it when you're nervous. Don't based your answers only on theory, find similar case studies, or even friends' stories. <b>Show passion in your answers</b>, always speak up your mind! Don't forget prepare yourself the night before (but don't overdo it, it's not a freaking examination, it's an interview!)<br />
<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li><b>SLEEP EARLY & EAT!</b></li>
</ul>
<br />
Sleep early, <b>have a good rest before your interview</b>. If you don't sleep well the night before, you can feel groggy and not be on top of your game. Eat well, eat breakfast! It's crucial to feed your body, so you can think properly. <b>When you're hungry, you won't be able to focus</b><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li><b>DRESS APPROPRIATELY</b></li>
</ul>
</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My advice might be quite different here for those who wants to apply for fashion retail and professionals. When you apply for fashion retail companies, make sure you don't wear white shirt and black pencil skirt. Honey, this ain't bank.. Dress with style, just like what you wear during weekends, but make it office appropriate. Stay chic! Example; you like wearing t-shirt and jeans? Wear a blazer and kitten heels to make it proper. Not sure about the jeans? Change it to dark color culottes. With fashion companies, make sure you have the style, especially when you're a marketing, you should be able to <b>represent yourself well</b>. Remember not to overdo your make up as well!<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
When you go to professionals job interviews (Banking, Finance) more serious corporate jobs, I think you should play it safer, wear dark colors, keep it monotone. But remember to always keep it chic! I have friends who work in finance and they look amazing!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Happy Monday! Would like to share with you all my most recent collaboration with DUMA – definitely one of Indonesian labels that you are familiar with. For their newest collection called MUNDANE, I picked my favorite pieces, styled it ala me, and stroll around in Jakarta most oldest area, Kota Tua. Here I'm sharing with you Behind The Scene pics from that Sunday....<br />

Finally on Wednesday I got the chance to visit ARA – a curated boutique in Kemang featuring Indonesia's most promising labels. I can say, if you in need of clothes for casual smart or even wedding events... This is the perfect place to shop! They have their own <a href="https://www.arajakarta.com/">webstore</a>, but it's better to visit and try on the clothes right? Besides.. their space is absolutely beautiful. I say, it's worth the trip to go all the way to Kemang.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Located on the 5th floor in COLONY (just right accross Kemchick) – the bright space gives you the right amount of natural lights. So many big windows and mirrors (which I totally love). On this special occasion, Alvin T collaborated by featuring some of his furniture pieces to decorate ARA</div>

Back to career post with me again...! How's your week so far? I bet it's been awesome right? For me, My mood starts picking up.. I've been feeling a bit under with retrograde is shadowing my sun and moon. But I realized, I should always be grateful and not finding tiny details that I don't like. So stay positive, chin up, and seize the day!<br />
<br />
Let's start..<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
At the end of 2015 – another opportunity arose. I was offered to move to another marketing team in MAP. Was I interested? Most definitely. Why? After working a year with my dream brand (ZARA).. I need a new challenge, a new dream to reach. So my decision was to keep an eye on luxury brands. I know after managing fast fashion– I would want to move to Luxury brands. During those months I had couple interviews, and I had no luck yet. So yes, I did fail on my interviews and it's okay!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Beside having a new dream, my other reason that got me interested to move to the other team is the brands that I was going to handle. I mean, LOEWE? That's one good reason why I should migrate to the other team. Jonathan Anderson debuted his first collection for LOEWE – SS15. The brand was changing, they're revamping the store, basically changing the whole Loewe DNA. I thought "THIS can be my stepping stone, a learning curve to my next career step" so then I took it. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Of course it wasn't the only brand I was handling. I had 7 more (MaxMara, Max&Co, Weekend MaxMara, Swarovski, DKNY, Nautica, and Thomas Pink) but Loewe was the reason why. </div>

Pictures above was when I went to check out (and support) the event, just to see what the brand is about. Then few months later, after I moved, I did my first event for Weekend MaxMara (pic below). If I have to choose between working for luxury brands or fast fashion brands.. I'm going to choose luxury. Why? Because I like expensive shit HAHAHAA just kidding. But, aside from all those pretty pretty stuffs that keep calling my name, I just like how everything has its own template and story. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
Maybe this goes back to high school, when I was still very young, I found interest in history. I enjoy reading stories about how one dynasty fall, rule, and so on. I like to read biographies of famous historical figure (remember those comic books about Einstein, Alexander Graham Bell, Isaac Newton?), I like to read a story, especially how things were made.. and I think this is why I like about luxury brands. They are rich in stories.<br />
<br />
For a brand that has been established since the 1800, like Louis Vuitton, you know that they started with the trunk, and apparently back then they already launched perfumes, but right now they're relaunching it again. For Hermes, they made saddles (for you to ride horses).. So I like reading these stories, I like to know how a brand was built... how a dress need to be hand-sewn for more than 200 hours.. Every detail is mesmerising. The thoughts, hours, details, and hearts given to each product are simply... out of the world.<br />
<br />
I work for luxury brands not because of prestige or anything.. It goes way beyond that, I love the brand story, I love how everything is in line, how everything is very well thought. It makes me feel attached and makes me want to do more for the brand. Every tiny details has its own story, which make me think.. "What can I do to make this go big with a story that is so interesting like this!"<br />
<br />
Aside from the brand story – loving how they have guidelines and templates for every single thing. It might be a PR nightmare, but I like it.<br />

Pretty much I love everything in the new team. No complain (ok I got some, but it was all managable) I love my team so much, and during that time I got the chance to do my first work trip! It started with Surabaya but then the big one happened.. A trip to Singapore for LOEWE Paragon Store Opening !! I was supposed to come along with my managers, but I ended up going by myself with other 3 media friends. I was so nervous, I didn't know what to expect. didn't know what I should do.<br />
<br />
What made the trip even more special, Jonathan Anderson came to Singapore too. You have no idea how happy I was! I just hope I can chat and take a pic with him (duh!) Anxiety aside, I went euphoric during the whole trip. Loewe treated all of us like royals – we have interview with Jonathan in the morning at the Raffles Hotel, then on the afternoon we went to the Paragon Store Opening Party. They had a huge exhibition at Paragon atrium, just right outside the store<br />

People started coming in for the opening party, bloggers, celebrities, and I was star struck. Yoyo Cao was there (big fan of her style). She is just so cute and nice , and then the star came. Jonathan right in front of my eyes. Managed to score a group pic for Indonesia team! Yasss.... </div>

After the party, we had a regional dinner for all the press and PR for Asia. It was intimate and great to meet representatives from the other countries. A trip won't be complete without an after party, so after dinner.. We headed to Kilo Lounge, where they're having the after party. And you know how luxury do their business, serious to the bone. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
They changed the interiors to Loewe bean bags. I wanted to take one home, but of course I'll get arrested. At the party, Jonathan DJ-ed and played some of his favorite music. Everyone was dancing like cray cray, and I finally got the chance to chat and snap a pic with him!</div>

Thanks to this trip I made new friends too, especially this cutie Gabjayy. She no longer works at PPGroup Thailand, she now has a swimwear line named Studio Common. Hope to see her soon !<br />

You prolly can see how happy I was, smiling from ear to ear couldn't contain the joy and happiness I was feeling. I promised myself to work harder.. I didn't try to apply anywhere else because I'm happy and grateful enough that I get to manage Loewe and the other brands. I told myself even, I can settle for this, for now.<br />
<br />
I found out that it is true – when you love what you are doing, it doesn't feel like a job. That it is important for you to really have passion in what you do, it's important for people to see your love towards something<br />
<br />
And then suddenly my friend Manda texted me "Car, HRD gue nanya, lu tertarik gak apply buat marcomm luxury?" And I'm like, "Ha? Seriusan?" then I went to the interview<br />
<br />
and it was the fastest interview I've been to in my life<br />
<br />
Stay tune for the next chapter!<br />

Happy Independence Day Indonesia!! On the occasion, yesterday I spent the day diving at Pulau Seribu. Not the first time diving there (already my third time!), however it's the perfect location if you want to do a one day trip dive with no hassle (because it's only 1 hour boat ride away)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Anyways, our main objective for the dive trip was to plant corals. The island for this particular activity is located at Pulau Sepa. It's one of the famous island in Pulau Seribu. They have a decent resort with wide varieties of water sports. After a bumpy and sleepy ride to the island, we geared up and ready to dive!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
For a day trip dive, usually you can do a maximum of 3 dives. So yesterday, the plan was dive 1-2 to plant corals, and save the last dive to explore the other dive sites.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-txi9LKErQqQ/WZavtWflZbI/AAAAAAAACRM/__DK1GDmHHEcfoxAawZuI_sWieIxrq3AwCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_8807.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-txi9LKErQqQ/WZavtWflZbI/AAAAAAAACRM/__DK1GDmHHEcfoxAawZuI_sWieIxrq3AwCLcBGAs/s640/IMG_8807.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Right on the first dive me and Rhein managed to plant the corals, well more like tie the corals with wire to the biorock. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed with the whole experience. I thought we're going to receive the whole education about corals itself and the 'coral planting' idea in my mind is that we going to cut some corals and place it on the reefs. Apparently it's being done on a bio rock, looks like a steel framework of pyramid or tunnel shape that are being flown and the corals will grow faster. Using the technology, the corals can grow faster by 6-8times. It takes a very long time for corals to grow. So dive carefully!!<br />

Each corals that we "plant" on to the biorock are tagged with a number, so the next time we go there we can see whether our corals are growing or not, we shall see.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Since we pretty much want to dive to the other dive sites, we directly go for Papateo for our second dive. It's a wreck dive site so we got to see the wreck of Papateo ship. Sadly, the visibility sucks so bad. We thought moving farther away from Pulau Sepa would be better, apparently it wasn't. I I think because of the weather was pretty cloudy, and I heard if you want to dive in Papateo, you have to dive in the morning, when the waves on the surface is calmer. Eventho some of us got sea sick, by the time we hit the water and descend into the blue sea, we felt better instantly.<br />
<br />
Thankfully, eventho the water was so murky, we can still see how there's a lot of soft corals I've on the wreck which I didnt see the last time I went diving at Papateo. This is what I like about diving, every dive the experience will be different. It's all about the weather, timing, and season. So uncertain but it makes it very interesting.<br />
<br />
Starving from 2 dives and early morning call, we finally head to Pulau Sekati for lunch. It's a private island where we can dock our ship and rest for a bit.<br />

After group pic, we went to dive right at Pulau Sekati, after diving around 5-10 mins finally we found this beautiful site. It's like untouched with so many wide varieties of soft corals live around the reefs. I really want to go there again in a hope the visibility could be better.<br />
Ren managed to take this pic below with gopro. I really think dive sites in Indonesia are still the best, never dive anywhere outside tho, but from what I heard and read... There are so many things in Indonesia that you can see. So, explore Indonesia! Happy Independence Day!<br />

<span id="goog_1090289648"></span><a href="https://www.blogger.com/"></a><span id="goog_1090289649"></span>Happy Tuesday!! We're back to Inspiration Tuesday posts.. Here I will be sharing with you things that have inspired me and in this post, I will share with you all the links where I usually got my fashion / lifestyle news from!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Let's go!!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1. <a href="https://www.businessoffashion.com/" style="text-align: center;">Business of Fashion</a><span style="text-align: center;"> | </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/bof/" style="text-align: center;">@bof</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bUnuLfz0aMU/WZHK077QFtI/AAAAAAAACP0/t9nXMvl2kwwgpsWXhZ1BhwQGIaKQb1dnQCLcBGAs/s1600/Screen%2BShot%2B2017-08-14%2Bat%2B11.07.17%2BPM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="987" data-original-width="1600" height="394" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bUnuLfz0aMU/WZHK077QFtI/AAAAAAAACP0/t9nXMvl2kwwgpsWXhZ1BhwQGIaKQb1dnQCLcBGAs/s640/Screen%2BShot%2B2017-08-14%2Bat%2B11.07.17%2BPM.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>Why?</i> It's one of the two websites that I always rely on. They post legit news (some sites just speculates like a tabloid), they write reviews in a very simple and understandable english. They have lots of sections that you can browse on – even to runways collections! BOF gives you an easy, understandable, relatable access to fashion. I read BOF daily</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
2. <a href="http://wwd.com/">WWD</a> | <a href="http://instagram.com/wwd">@wwd</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QYE7LMjwnuE/WZHMIxHTz8I/AAAAAAAACP8/7BIi-b-PYX8IHz9Hwd91zNsxah_CBZSYQCLcBGAs/s1600/Screen%2BShot%2B2017-08-14%2Bat%2B11.12.52%2BPM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1102" data-original-width="1578" height="444" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QYE7LMjwnuE/WZHMIxHTz8I/AAAAAAAACP8/7BIi-b-PYX8IHz9Hwd91zNsxah_CBZSYQCLcBGAs/s640/Screen%2BShot%2B2017-08-14%2Bat%2B11.12.52%2BPM.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>Why? </i>The other website when I can rely on legit fashion news. I think some brands/retail companies would even give 'exclusivity' to wwd.com to publish and be the one who announce the news. Wide varieties of articles in fashion and retail world. What suck is that you have to pay to read – so I did, a girl need to be updated in all kind of news in the fashion world if you have a career in it!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
3. <a href="http://coveteur.com/">The Coveteur</a> | <a href="http://instagram.com/coveteur">@coveteur</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uJde6zkKou8/WZHNxKLJZoI/AAAAAAAACQI/ph82YwWFTjAq8aoZqxtMxbKTbiaVtSZ6QCLcBGAs/s1600/Screen%2BShot%2B2017-08-14%2Bat%2B11.19.51%2BPM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1079" data-original-width="1600" height="430" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uJde6zkKou8/WZHNxKLJZoI/AAAAAAAACQI/ph82YwWFTjAq8aoZqxtMxbKTbiaVtSZ6QCLcBGAs/s640/Screen%2BShot%2B2017-08-14%2Bat%2B11.19.51%2BPM.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>Why?</i> At first, I was intrigued by the way they take pictures. It's so different. Bright, messy, yet still so aesthetically pleasing. I love their styling A LOT and they have been in and out of cool people's room for so many times, I lost count. With mini interviews on each articles with all super inspirational and cool public figures, you can't miss this one</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
4. <a href="http://intothegloss.com/">INTOTHEGLOSS</a> | <a href="http://instagram.com/intothegloss">@intothegloss</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-DsGheJjQsaA/WZHPDAtN9VI/AAAAAAAACQQ/_T3GilnRTBUhK9ZQkwNzerOpI99TB_1mwCLcBGAs/s1600/Screen%2BShot%2B2017-08-14%2Bat%2B11.24.48%2BPM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="860" data-original-width="1598" height="344" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-DsGheJjQsaA/WZHPDAtN9VI/AAAAAAAACQQ/_T3GilnRTBUhK9ZQkwNzerOpI99TB_1mwCLcBGAs/s640/Screen%2BShot%2B2017-08-14%2Bat%2B11.24.48%2BPM.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>Why? </i>Mother of Glossier. Relatable reviews, they sometimes post about Asian skincare too, aesthetically pleasing and not in a 'scandi' way, very refreshing. Intothegloss and TheCoveteur are my top top top top favorites link to read. Like Coveteur, ITG goes in and out of people's bathroom and make up pouch. They write every personal details of your skin care and make up routine. They have the coolest pictures too! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
5. <a href="http://www.vogue.com/">VOGUE</a> | <a href="http://instagram.com/voguemagazine">@voguemagazine</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8sM58Snx3JY/WZHQcG-cx1I/AAAAAAAACQc/MFvSqpuJjpEDgt-VIrgTRnBNTs-e5p92ACLcBGAs/s1600/Screen%2BShot%2B2017-08-14%2Bat%2B11.30.39%2BPM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="928" data-original-width="1430" height="414" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8sM58Snx3JY/WZHQcG-cx1I/AAAAAAAACQc/MFvSqpuJjpEDgt-VIrgTRnBNTs-e5p92ACLcBGAs/s640/Screen%2BShot%2B2017-08-14%2Bat%2B11.30.39%2BPM.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>Why? </i>After style.com got shut down – this is where you go when you want to see designers full collection. They have very interesting segment on their youtube even – 73 Questions with... (the one with Anna Wintour was very interesting). During fashion week month, their 'street style' posts are most coveted. If you remember Tommy Ton, he was the first street style photographer who got featured on style.com – I still remember that era, people dress so extra. Anna Dello Russo, Miroslava Duma, you will see fashion best dresses to stomp in the season's most coveted shoes and RTWs</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
6. <a href="http://www.whowhatwear.com/">WHOWHATWEAR</a> | <a href="http://instagram.com/whowhatwear">@whowhatwear</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Q9y4-492spQ/WZHR60Ow6XI/AAAAAAAACQo/WnnrEwj9fH0ps6E3RqIjjaSfUO7WBPklgCLcBGAs/s1600/Screen%2BShot%2B2017-08-14%2Bat%2B11.36.38%2BPM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1016" data-original-width="1522" height="424" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Q9y4-492spQ/WZHR60Ow6XI/AAAAAAAACQo/WnnrEwj9fH0ps6E3RqIjjaSfUO7WBPklgCLcBGAs/s640/Screen%2BShot%2B2017-08-14%2Bat%2B11.36.38%2BPM.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>Why?</i> I just have been following it for years but their curation has pretty much on point, although I don't really read their posts, I just browse for pics</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
7. <a href="http://www.refinery29.com/">REFINERY29</a> | <a href="http://instagram.com/refinery29">@refinery29</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8PQzWvk2Yeo/WZHSc_GXUEI/AAAAAAAACQw/NCocMdTrnRQD_A4at0iELY1hv0pR8f-0gCLcBGAs/s1600/Screen%2BShot%2B2017-08-14%2Bat%2B11.39.56%2BPM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1120" data-original-width="1600" height="444" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8PQzWvk2Yeo/WZHSc_GXUEI/AAAAAAAACQw/NCocMdTrnRQD_A4at0iELY1hv0pR8f-0gCLcBGAs/s640/Screen%2BShot%2B2017-08-14%2Bat%2B11.39.56%2BPM.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>Why?</i> Have been reading refinery29 for years too now, this and PopSugar used to be my bible. Their astrological readings are pretty good too. Wide varieties of articles that are not only for fashion, but also lifestyle.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
8. <a href="https://www.violetgrey.com/">VIOLET GREY</a> | <a href="https://www.instagram.com/violetgrey/">@violetgrey</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yge--Rlb-8A/WZHTghtz_jI/AAAAAAAACQ4/sKvOG4Cw2NsGwPWRKR8kkfSlKszBOfIzACLcBGAs/s1600/Screen%2BShot%2B2017-08-14%2Bat%2B11.43.38%2BPM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1106" data-original-width="1578" height="444" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yge--Rlb-8A/WZHTghtz_jI/AAAAAAAACQ4/sKvOG4Cw2NsGwPWRKR8kkfSlKszBOfIzACLcBGAs/s640/Screen%2BShot%2B2017-08-14%2Bat%2B11.43.38%2BPM.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Why? I like the monochromatic loon on the website and they have a nice curation of skincare and make up brands and cool people who they featured on the site</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Ok I think that's all, basically these are the websites that I've been reading over the years. There were some other sites like thefashionspot (it's a forum) – but I never really open it anymore. I use feedly to read all the news in one site, so I won't miss anything.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
That's it for now, next one maybe I'll list out my favorite bloggers list :) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
See you!</div>

Back here on #sergeantkerodotcom – and we're on part 4 of my career journey. Thank you again everyone for reading this, please do not hesitate to email or DM me, if you have questions :)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Rewind to few months back before I got accepted at MAP Fashion 1, it was in end of August / early September.. Sherly just introduced me to Ren, and we were just talking of how boring Jakara life is. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
In 2014, my weekends were filled with endless partying and going out. When you go out with your single friends – parties happened. It was not ideal at all, working in retail means your salary is not that high, you get discounts that means you'll ended shopping more (salary goes back to the company), going out every weekend means by now you have no savings. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Basically me and Sherly wanted something new, a fun activity to fill our weekend, and I found it on instagram – <a href="http://instagram.com/atelierfleuri">Fleuri's Flower Arrangement Workshop</a>. We decided that we're going to do this and I even asked my mom to join us, because I know how she loves flowers. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
That weekend I finally met Natasha (Nat) from Atelier Fleuri – she is my inspiration. Nat is the most hardworking florist I know, so creative, she really pours her heart out to her designs. You can totally see her passion through her creation. I just love love love love her.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://scontent-sin6-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/10670070_10152506890877153_5661694024126475026_n.jpg?oh=b1e9b5da7c2231fa8a0def41339c44cb&oe=59EC5D5B" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="533" data-original-width="800" height="424" src="https://scontent-sin6-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/10670070_10152506890877153_5661694024126475026_n.jpg?oh=b1e9b5da7c2231fa8a0def41339c44cb&oe=59EC5D5B" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
She inspires so much I ended up loving this new thing I just learned and I thought to myself.. This is fun.. Why don't we make a flower shop? Back then, there weren't many players in the online florist business. so I would say, we were so lucky to start the business at the right time. You know what they say.. <b><i>Timing is a bitch</i></b>. Thank God, time wasn't a bitch to us then :)<br />
<br />
I think it's very crucial when you want to start a new business. First step that you need to do is to do a research first, who are your competitors in the industry, what can you do to make your business different, what is your product, how to market it, who is your market, and so on. In my opinion, when you have the money maybe you can just start any business you want.. But, without the right knowledge and execution, your business can either go big or go home.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://scontent-sin6-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/10419056_10152506890932153_8197271218095560928_n.jpg?oh=9e25ff7705f20945fbab7981a907da56&oe=59FD6E15" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a></div>
<a name='more'></a><a href="https://scontent-sin6-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/10419056_10152506890932153_8197271218095560928_n.jpg?oh=9e25ff7705f20945fbab7981a907da56&oe=59FD6E15" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /><img border="0" data-original-height="533" data-original-width="800" height="424" src="https://scontent-sin6-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/10419056_10152506890932153_8197271218095560928_n.jpg?oh=9e25ff7705f20945fbab7981a907da56&oe=59FD6E15" width="640" /></a><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Sherly and I.. We didn't know much about how and where this will go, but we just hoped that this can be our side business. At the time, Sherly already has a jewellery brand for her side business – We Are The People (<a href="http://instagram.com/watpthelabel">@watpthelabel</a>), she wanted to focus on the brand and I was ready to move on to better things honestly. Applied to different jobs, but haha no luck really.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So where did the name JIRO came from? It first started when Sherly wanted to have "STUDIO" in the name, so I said jokingly – Studio Jiro!! Jiro is a combination of our nicknames. Ji is from Jib (everyone calls her jib) and Ro is from Kero – so JIRO. She didn't love it right away, but we ended up using the name ;) In October 2014, Studio Jiro was born.<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
In the same month – I received an email from MAP Fashion1 HR, they said they have a vacant position for Assistant Marketing Manager for Fashion Division. I was stoked – so happy and I replied YES right away for the interview. <b><i>Career advice:</i></b> say <b>yes to better opportunities</b>. Especially to the ones that will make you grow. You know what's the funniest thing? The interview location was at the <b><i>SAME FLOOR</i></b> as my office. After interview with the HR, I got interviewed with the users (your direct superiors), they told me the brands I will be managing, you have no idea how happy I was. My team managed all the fast fashion brands, so during my first year at MAP Fashion1 – I managed: <b>Inditex</b> Brands: Massimo Dutti, ZARA, Bershka, Pull&Bear, Zara Home, and <b>Arcadia</b> Brands: Topshop, Topman, Dorothy Perkins, Miss Selfridge, Wallis, and Burton. Tried so hard to act all cool, but of course I failed. Long story short, after few days I received another email offering me the position and of course I said YES. Yes to my dream job, finally!!!!<br />
<br /><i><b>Funny fact</b>: me and Sherly resigned at the same time at our previous company, we told our boss together</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The first few months was a bit surreal.. Working 2 jobs.. Who would've thought? Me? Until right now I'm still quite surprised at myself. Anyways.. The first few months of Jiro was slow.. I think it's normal for new business to be like that, if you're lucky.. Your business can boom right away, but I prefer the business performance to increase slowly and go steady rather than up and down like a hill. <b><i>Slow but sure</i></b>. That's what I always keep in mind.<br />
<br />
So if you just start your own business,<b><i> don't be discouraged</i></b>. There are few things that you can do.. Do a weekly/monthly <b>review</b> of your business performance, your products, and competitor. Quality control your products, <b>have a certain standard</b>, and keep it that way. See what's out there, don't live inside your comfort zone. <b><i>Be curious and ask questions</i></b>. Go out and meet new people, because if not, how good opportunities will find you?<br />
<br />
After a while, dealing with 2 jobs seems to be <i>manageable </i>– however, I've never been keen on doing administration part. I'm not neat and my things are quite bit messy (you should see my room hahaha) I try my best to keep things on track and my brain is easily distracted. I try to prioritise but well yeah, I try my best<br />
<br />
If you're wondering about my daily schedule when I started Jiro, it went like this: 6AM trip to the flower shop (back then we didn't have any connections to supplier) hahahaha, then off to work, after a while, we have some suppliers in contact, no cooler yet tho so we use my brother's room to become our cooler (hello electricity bill!) Then after orders start coming in, we bought a cooler finally. That's when I feel like, wow <b>things are getting real</b>.<br />
<br />
My days go by like this, flowers before work, full time office job, and flowers after work. To be honest if you ask me how I can manage my time well, I don't manage my time well. I have messages on whatsapp that I can't respond to, I just try to keep everything in balance. But the biggest help comes from Sherly. I feel I'm very lucky to have her as my partner, she's very driven, neat, and a planner. Unlike me, she likes to do things in advance, while me I like to do things near the deadline (I know it's bad, but I like the mini pressure). Honestly without Sherly, I don't think Studio Jiro will survive. Sure we have our own issues and quarrels, emotional rollercoaster, it's not easy to deal with someone who is very moody like me. But, she is very understanding and willing to work with me. So thank you Jibo <3<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>Jiro's First Valentine's Day. Jiro boyfriends on delivery duty HAHA</i></div>
<br />
What I learned from my experience is that, <b><i>you can never work on your own</i></b>. You will always need someone's help to go forward. Not only that, <b><i>focus is also very important</i></b>. Don't go start another business if your current project/business are not steady yet (well at least that's me). Remember how I like things to be steady and sure? Yes, so my advice is to focus on your current project, make it good, well established, and if you're confident to embark on a new adventure, go do it. I don't think it's nice for your portfolio if you have a lot of things on your plate and none of it are doing well.<br />
<br />
<br />
After a while doing Jiro and my current job at MAP, things have gone really well. Jiro managed to work with some amazing people, we have worked with, Cotton Ink, Potato Head, Massimo Dutti, Common Grounds and St Ali, we even got to learn overseas too! Oh for follower counts, don't think too much about it. It's more about<b><i> your customers buying power, not how many followers you have</i></b>. Keep it mind, on digital..<i><b> You have to be present at all time</b></i>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://scontent.fcgk6-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/11159461_10152910915777153_2621814943479804023_n.jpg?oh=cfda1d6df3b87776f348552897378015&oe=5A2A0295" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="800" height="640" src="https://scontent.fcgk6-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/11159461_10152910915777153_2621814943479804023_n.jpg?oh=cfda1d6df3b87776f348552897378015&oe=5A2A0295" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
As time goes by, I really like my job of course.. Now I'm just aiming for my next move.. I was dreaming about moving to luxury brands. Who knows I can sit front row at the show of my favorite brands? I did some interviews, but no luck yet. So I just focus at MAP, anyways it's my dream job, so I had almost no complains. But I know my next step is to go to luxury business.<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><i>MAP FASHION 1 circa 2015</i></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Right after a year, my boss said she wanted me to move to another marketing team. Fyi, we have 3 marketing team in MAP Fashion, one is doing fast fashion big retail (zara etc, thats my team), one is doing lifestyle (lacoste, tumi, kipling, etc), and the other one is doing the luxury/high end brands. So I got offered to take the luxury/high end team, because the manager is resigning.. So I'm like yeaaaaahhhh!! It can be my stepping stone to go forward, and I love the brands too. Loewe just changed their creative director to JW Anderson, super exciting, and the number of brands that I will manage at that time even lesser. So yes!<br />
<br />
By then, I know I <b>must never question God</b> on how he has plans for my career, because so far what He has given has been so so good. So well, I decided not to quit my full time job, first because it's the money (I like having steady incomes), second, I like the job, and third.. My dad says no. You must stay.<br />
<br />
Then I stayed for another year. And during that one year, I learned a lot of things, and definitely made memorable memories that I still keep until now..<br />
<br />
that I will share on my next post! So stay tune...<br />
<br />

Happy Monday everyone! Lucky me, I just got back from Singapore for my friend's wedding and today I have to call in sick because I'm right now on my bed writing...er with a very bad flu.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Flew to Singapore on Saturday morning – arrived at the hotel around 2:30PM local time. I've been mesmerised with this beautiful hotel when I visited Singapore last year, it's the <b>Park Royal at Pickering Hotel</b>. The hotel has this amazing vertical garden that decorates the building which I think becomes one of Singapore's 'IT' accommodation location. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I made a reservation at Populus for our late lunch– it is my favorite brunch place in Singapore. I love their Grain Bowl (image above), it is a mix of sautéed veggies with meat in the middle. Everytime I visit Singapore, I will make sure that I will go there (I even take my friends to go there with me hahaha). <b><i>Travel tips</i></b>: better book before you come to ensure your table! I use 'chope' application to reserve. Around Populus area, they have this famous walls for you can take picture at hahaha.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After our late lunch, the day was pretty much a blur. We had some titipan so we have to go around the city, and made sure we go to our restaurant reservation by 9PM. Our first destination was the newly opened – <i style="font-weight: bold;">Dover Street Market </i>(it's at Dempsey). Honestly, I was surprised because I thought the 'warehouse' looking place would be bigger. I expected a fun place, but instead I felt suffocated when I was there (maybe because I'm a bit claustrophobic as well?) There was a lot of things on display, with all the wire gates in the middle, so many things going on everywhere. It was not that super crowded tho, so I dont know what made my experience to DSM not so pleasant.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Anyways, I did find a super nice Jacquemus Jacket that I would really love to have.....</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5ujMRt44vAk/WYfih-RgZeI/AAAAAAAACO8/EXGAbIqCFCs9xtveqynFCr0urm754OXDwCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_7512.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"></a><a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-EjKwisKOJ58/WYfii9ALcyI/AAAAAAAACPA/_m__cBnSlGgX_FrXF_EZbMpGApYtTzT9gCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_7516.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="768" data-original-width="1024" height="474" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-EjKwisKOJ58/WYfii9ALcyI/AAAAAAAACPA/_m__cBnSlGgX_FrXF_EZbMpGApYtTzT9gCLcBGAs/s640/IMG_7516.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
From DSM – we went straight away to Orchard, traveling with bus again. I feel so happy everytime I get the chance to use public transportation. I enjoy walking a lot, so since I cannot do it in Jakarta (outside SCBD area) might as well, maximise all the time we have to go around by feet or bus or train.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Pretty much that's it for day 1. I started my second day with <b><i>running</i></b>. What the hell I got myself into? Ren loves running, so he dragged my ass to go with him to MacRitchie Reservoir. Couple who works out together, stays together, right? HAHAHA </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It's quite nice, with the "lake". The track itself is a trail hahaha. I obviously did not run with Ren, because hahaha I cannot run. So I ran by myself, did a 4K. Decided to end my run when I got back to the first location and see the beautiful lake view, with all the canoes and all, it's hard for me not to take pictures!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5ujMRt44vAk/WYfih-RgZeI/AAAAAAAACPI/xZVhsdIK2oQwGPVdROPONDEw2cfCuZP5ACEwYBhgL/s1600/IMG_7512.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="768" data-original-width="1024" height="474" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5ujMRt44vAk/WYfih-RgZeI/AAAAAAAACPI/xZVhsdIK2oQwGPVdROPONDEw2cfCuZP5ACEwYBhgL/s640/IMG_7512.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After burning all of our fats, we went to Toast Box, ordered 2 sets of kaya toasts with eggs. Wasn't so satisfied, we went to McDonalds for a burger and a hash brown. HAHAHAHA The rest of the day, we went for our friend's wedding – Tryphena and Thomas. Met some people who I didn't expect to see. The world is indeed very very small – that's why we should always be kind to each other :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TEr-_FvzEtc/WYfijfs2rNI/AAAAAAAACPE/RgvUOYib5R0D89CLrpl1qC9JxCNpN-nWgCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_7517.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="768" data-original-width="1024" height="474" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TEr-_FvzEtc/WYfijfs2rNI/AAAAAAAACPE/RgvUOYib5R0D89CLrpl1qC9JxCNpN-nWgCLcBGAs/s640/IMG_7517.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Anyways, that's the end of it. From the wedding, we went straight to the hotel to pick up our luggage, and off to the airport. We'll be going again to Singapore in September, if you have other cafes/places recommendation, please let us know!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
See you x </div>

So.. Before I start talking about what's the next step in my career... <br />
<br />
I'm going to share you with you a bit of what I know about the retail industry. I'll try my best to break it down, but please keep in mind that I've only worked in retail for.l 5 years, my knowledge might be still limited (Lol didn't realized I've been working for 5 years!).. every company is different, so this is based only from what I know or heard along the years...<br />
<br />
Let's begin!<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/cb/0b/08/cb0b08b5bad75720148e01bc59c84b0c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="374" data-original-width="564" height="424" src="https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/cb/0b/08/cb0b08b5bad75720148e01bc59c84b0c.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><i>image from: flackstudio.com.au</i></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Some of you are quite concerned whether if you're not a fashion graduate, can you still work in fashion? The answer is: <b>Absolutely</b>. Even when you don't have any background in retail, can you still apply? <b>Definitely</b> – however, please note: please read the 'requirement' section on every job vacancy ads that you see, the HR (human resources dept) definitely will put the "check list". But hey, just <b><i>try</i></b> <i><b>to apply</b></i> even when you cannot tick everything on the check list, at least you know you tried, right?<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a>I will definitely write about on how to apply jobs / handling interviews in the future, but since this post is more about the industry itself.. I'll skip on "how to apply" part for now..</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
So, what's retail? If you google 'retail', it means 'the sale of goods to ultimate consumers'. So basically when you work in retail = you sell goods / products. What differentiates one company from another, probably is the <b>type of goods that they are selling</b>. Me? I work in fashion retail. So I work in a company that sells/distribute fashion goods aka ready to wears (clothes/RTW), bags, shoes, and etc. <br />
<br />
When you work in Indonesia, for International brands (luxury (Celine, Chanel, etc) /fast fashion (Zara, Mango, Topshop,etc)) there won't be job vacancies for "<i><b>DESIGN TEAM</b></i>" because of course, everything has been made and that makes those companies in Indonesia become the "<b>Official Distributor</b>". Companies like Mitra Adi Perkasa, Gilang Agung Persada, Kanmo Group, Time International, Trans Fashion, Gagan International, etc – they are the ones who are responsible, manage, and the sole <b><i>distributor</i></b> of their brands.<br />
<br />
However, some brands like H&M, Dior, LV, Prada, MiuMiu, (this is what I know, please correct me if I'm wrong), they are owned by directly H&M and Dior themselves (they have a local company or maybe partner up with local company, the status is not a distributor).<br />
<br />
What makes a difference when you work in a "<i>distributor</i>" company and "<i>directly owned</i>" companies? As you work for distributor companies, there might be a chance for you to manage several brands at once, on the opposite company you will solely be handling that one brand only. Distributor means the company "beli putus" aka you bought the goods to sell and you have to sell it, cannot be returned. When, you're directly own the brand, chances for you to be able to return the goods back to your "principal" are higher. You don't need to think of dead stocks/etc. Worst case scenario you need to destroy the goods (imagine destroying a perfect Dior bag). But of course they are not always like this, as I said, every company is different, it depends how they made the agreement in the beginning. It's all in the contract, all about the finances, goods, marketing, budgets, regulation, guidelines, everything.<br />
<br />
That's what happened when I was at MAP, I didn't only manage ZARA or Agent Provocateur, I've managed at least 8 brands at once. But don't worry, I have colleagues and superior who helped me manage them and the brands are divided based on the heaviness of the marketing activities! At my current company, I manage 3 brands.<br />
<br />
So let's say you want to work<b> for </b>a designer in Indonesia, it's possible to apply as "assistant fashion designer" to the local Indonesian brands both the big brands or even the newly rising labels in Indonesia that you can see on Instagram. Because everything is made here, you can totally help to design. If you want to sell the designers product, maybe you can try working at companies that runs for a 'marketplace' aka something like ASOS (Love & Flair, Bobobobo, Zalora, Lazada (these are marketplace), a place where you can buy a lot of products from different brands – in a bigger scale, department store.<br />
<br />
Btw, to apply as a fashion designer – whether you need drawing skills or not, I have no idea, gotta check with their HR :)<br />

Don't worry if you think your major doesn't match the job you want, my dad is an engineer graduate and he became a businessman. I consider myself lucky because I work in a division where I can use all the education I learned when I was uni. And don't think too much about your grades or degree, myself.. I don't see 'education/grades' as a top priority, because when it comes to work, <i><b>your grade doesn't really matter</b></i>, sure it will help you getting the interviews,but it all comes down to <b><u>whether you can work or not</u></b>. Your cum laude title? Doesn't mean a thing if you cannot perform well at your job.<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/68/a1/5c/68a15cc48b485fbf287fc475ee74bd0b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="408" data-original-width="564" height="462" src="https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/68/a1/5c/68a15cc48b485fbf287fc475ee74bd0b.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><i>CELINE</i></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Just like any other company, I guess the structure is quite the same. There's the CEO who is in charge and managing everything, hand in hand with the CFO who handles the cashflow, all the monetary, budgets, finances, shares, etc,etc.<br />
<br />
In retail, we have the <b>BRAND team</b>. Brand team = they manage, they are responsible in executing and running the brand smoothly. There is the Brand Manager who works closely with <b>Marketing Manager, Visual Merchandising (VM) Manager, and Operation Manager</b>.<br />
<br />
Brand manager (BM) makes the decisions along with the supporting division aka Marketing, VM, and Ops. When the company has a lot of brands, they will have "Head of Brand Managers/Merchandiser" which means she/he is the BMs' boss.<br />
<br />
<b>Marketing</b> division (me!), will take care, manage all the support that the brand need in order to sell. We are not sales person, however we help to <b>increase brand/product awareness</b>, finding the correct tools and activities that are need to be done, <b>in order for the brand to make some MONEY</b>. Ad placements, OOH, in store promotions, events, CRM (customer relationship management), and public relation falls into Marketing division. Also remember, we also take good care how the customer sees our brand, that's very important too. IMAGE CONTROL.<br />
<br />
<b>Visual Merchandising (VM)</b> take care of HOW the store looks like. To make it simple, like interior designer, they are responsible to make the store looks fresh and most importantly INVITING. During sale season, they also take a role in making sure that the store is ready to have the maximum display for sale so people can spend they're money.<br />
<br />
<b>Operation Manager (Ops) – </b>they manage the operations team, the floor staffs aka store assistants. They're dealing with hiring people to work at the stores. They manage daily operations, from stock takes, SA shifts, incoming stocks, everything that is happening in the stores.<br />
<br />
Other than the brand team, in the back office there are also Human Resources Department (HRD), Finance Team, Logistic Team, IT Team, and etc. So, actually you can apply as anything in a retail company, based to what your preference<br />
<br />
When you work at the <i>floor</i> (aka the store), you don't get to work 9 to 5, you work in shift, morning shift, middle shift, or night shift. You take turns to sell in the stores. It's actually quite fun, I like to sell stuff HAHAHA, i feel so happy everytime I can sell something to my friend. I feel very... fulfilled. Hahahaha<br />
<br />
Honestly, I don't think I would ever work outside the retail industry (for a full time job). I find this fashion world, is so much fun there is so much into it. It is definitely not all GLAMOROUS. Especially when you have to go to the warehouse, yeah no. Or when you have to stay at the mall, during closing hours (after 10PM) and wait for suppliers to come and set up your venue for event on the next day.. Working in fashion is not all sparkly and luxurious, it's not wearing fancy clothes and carrying fancy bags everyday.<br />
<br />
I know fashion retail is my calling, I love everything about it. Eventhough sometimes I have to work long hours, steaming clothes, meeting lots of people, got pressured from your boss' boss, I don't mind at all because I love the brands I'm managing for and I still love it. Honestly, the brands matter.<br />
<br />
What about you? Have you found your true calling?<br />
<br />
<i><b>Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life - Confucious</b></i><br />
<br />
Or at least, you feel less burden while doing it :P</div>

Summer reminds me of catchy K-POP songs that keep on playing over and over again. Last year, I finally went back to Seoul (after 3 years!) to watch BIGBANG 10th Year Anniversary Concert. I miss everything about Seoul – the food, the transportation, the people (oppas!)... Eventho I didn't spend a much time there, only 5 days or so, but thank God I managed to eat at my favorite places. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I shared with you few times back then (check out my tagged post<b><i> <a href="http://www.sergeantkero.com/search/label/KeroTravelSeries">#KeroTravelSeries</a></i></b>) where to go in Korea, but in this post I will list out everything on where to go. Back again with Career Post with sergeantkero! LOL. How's your week everyone? Hopefully each and one of you are doing great!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Thank you all for a very warm feedback on this career section with me. Again, I'm still learning myself, I'm not yet a professional and master in what I do, so let's share if you have any other opinions on the comment section below, OR DM me on instagram :)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So.. What was it the last time I write about? Oh, I started working in Debenhams. It wasn't a big role that I have at first, yet I was very happy. I was given the privilege to run the accounts, being creative, even did this <a href="http://www.sergeantkero.com/search/label/Debenhams%3A%20Blogger%20Styling%20Competition">DEBENHAMS Blogger Styling Competition</a> with my fellow blogger friends, that you can still read on my blog (thank you Kak Diana, Anaz, Olin, Sonia, and Mich Koes – for always supporting and helping me...) It's very important for us human beings, <b><i>to feel trusted</i></b>. That's why it's also very important to feel <b><i>trust at work</i></b>. When your boss trusts your work, your life will be so much easier and it's good for your self confidence too! <i><b>Be confident with your self and your work</b></i>.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><b>Career advice</b></i>: Find a role in a company where <i><b>you can grow</b></i>, don't be someone who get told around what to do. <b><i>Have initiatives, speak out your ideas, observe, and help your team</i></b> – remember, working in a company means you are working with and for someone else. You will always need other people's help. I know sometimes it's easier to do everything by yourself, but you have your job scopes, and they have their job scopes. So follow it through.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
About applying for jobs – <b><i>don't worry about sticking in your major too much</i></b> – it's important to find your passion first, and go after it. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
But after working at Debenhams for a while.. I decided to quit in end of 2012, because I wanted to go to Korea to learn new language. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Yeah no, I loved Bigbang so much so I moved to Korea for a year. Aside from full time fangirling, I also got enrolled in Yonsei University to learn new language in a hope I can work for YG. LULZ.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I was 22 when I quit my first job – moved to Seoul for a year in <b>2013</b>. Was one of the best years of my life – I didn't get to work at YG however I managed to: be in <b>G-Dragon's – Who You Music Video </b>(hell yeah! Was one of hundreds of fans who went to the filming, was pre-picked online on VIP4 website). I am very proud of this – my fangirling days are definitely another story to tell.<br />
<br /></div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">yup... it happened</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Anyways, I khilaf and in <b>2014</b> I got back, finally settling down in Jakarta. Why? <i><b>As simple as I was single and got no boyfriend. </b>FYI, my dream at that time was to get married at 25, how was I supposed to get married at 25, but no bf yet? So I must go home and find cute boy leh. </i>LOL</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><b></b></i><br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><b> </b></i>Finding a job in 2014<b> was even tougher</b>. I tried my luck to apply as a merchandiser – honestly, no luck. I was so sad, I thought "I should've taken the merchandiser job, not the marketing one, but rice turned into porridge already so what to do. Of course it was harder because I had no experience on merchandising, so if I want to pursue it, I have to start my career all over again – that's why I decided to say good bye becoming a merchandiser and just continue where I started my career – MARKETING.<br />
<br />
I started looking into marketing jobs again, and my ex-Debenhams colleague, Amel – told me that there's a vacant position at her company, which is still part of the MAP group (so funny). Long story short, I got accepted as <i><b>Marketing Executive</b></i> – my job scope got wider, I will not be only doing social media, but also marketing as a whole. To be honest, I like it better.<br />
<br />
Doing marketing and not only social media interests me more, because I feel like I have more control of what's going on. Social media is <b>one channel</b> of your marketing tools, you need to know what is your marketing plan (as a whole) first by then you'll know what kind of activities, social media channels that are perfect for your brand</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Anyways, this new company is a sister company to MAP – under the group who manages all department stores (Seibu, Sogo, Decbenhams, Galeries Lafayette, etc). I managed some of the brands in Galeries Lafayette – one of them was <b><i>Agent Provocateur</i></b>. Yes, it's a luxury lingerie brand. After working for them, I worship their products, they're very classy but also very mysterious, seductive, and sexy (also kinky).</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://scontent-sit4-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/1977374_10152090524832153_691189768_n.jpg?oh=1de423f2cd3830ff983154954c75bb06&oe=59ECA904" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="600" height="640" src="https://scontent-sit4-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/1977374_10152090524832153_691189768_n.jpg?oh=1de423f2cd3830ff983154954c75bb06&oe=59ECA904" width="480" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">my super hot brand manager for Agent Provocateur (this dress is on sale on tinkerlust.com)</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Honestly – it's my <b>least favorite </b>company that I've worked for. At that time, I felt like a stupid person doing stupid things without clear directions. But you know how people always say "<i><b>Things happen for a reason</b></i>". Well, there were reasons indeed.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Reason number 1</b> – this colleague of mine Sherly, introduced me to Rhein (aka my current boyfriend). <b>Reason number 2</b> – Sherly and I started Studio Jiro together in 2014. <b>Reason number 3</b> – I learned on what kind of boss I aspire to be, not shitty.</div>

So imagine if I didn't work there, probably right now, I will still have no boyfriend and no side business right? So, yeah – you can always quit your job and find a better one. But, before you move, always try first, so yo won't have any regrets after leaving. However my advice... Don't change job every 3 months, it's bad for your CV and definitely you won't learn anything in 3 months. Give it maybe 1 year to have the full experience. Unless something very very terrible is happening at work, then you need to quit!<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://scontent-sit4-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/10670070_10152506890877153_5661694024126475026_n.jpg?oh=b1e9b5da7c2231fa8a0def41339c44cb&oe=59EC5D5B" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="533" data-original-width="800" height="424" src="https://scontent-sit4-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/10670070_10152506890877153_5661694024126475026_n.jpg?oh=b1e9b5da7c2231fa8a0def41339c44cb&oe=59EC5D5B" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">where it all started</td></tr>

<b><i>Lessons are learned</i></b>. Definitely I found out what kind of superiors that I don't aspire to become, I also learn that things DO happen for reasons (these kind of situations keep on happening over and over again in my life). So readers, it's okay to feel sad, or even depressed – but talk it out, don't keep things to yourself. If you can't talk with your superiors, talk to your colleagues who you look up to and definitely wise enough to help you.<br />
<br />
And as for my career change– thank God! I found a new job, a better one, and most importantly, my long time dream finally came true.<br />
<br />
<br />
<b>I got accepted as Assistant Marketing Manager at MAP Fashion 1. </b><br />
<br />
One of the brands that I was handling – you guess it right, <b>ZARA</b>.<br />
<br />
<br />
It might <b><i>took me 3 years</i></b> to finally work where I wanted, so always believe in yourself, because you are made to achieve greatness in life!!<br />
<br />
And now I have to juggle between 2 jobs – eek! What to do?</div>

Who said wearing clothes to work have to be boring? With the right versatile pieces, you can totally upgrade your look.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It's no big secret that I love outerwears – especially blazers. LOVE them. Why? With blazers, their cut and shape is pretty much formal. However, pairing them with let's say t-shirts and jeans, your look can be totally casual. Not only jeans, you can also wear shorts even! Different pieces, different style.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So back to office look, I had an event last Thursday – so decided to put on this Bel Corpo dress. Totally love it since the first time, and when I put it on – instant love affair. Good fabric, and what made me fall in love more is the pattern play and hem cut at the bottom. Pinstripe is also a really cool pattern that is totally acceptable for corporate looks. Still look formal but not too heavy. <i><b>Key style</b></i>: navy/white pinstripes are the best. </div>

Not forgetting how cold my office is, I put on my <a href="http://revesstudio.com/content/27-revesxkero">Reves Studio x Kero</a> blazers and belt it up. The idea is to give it a new shape, where the asymmetrical hem cut will pop up under the blazers. When the weather gets too hot, you can just simply take it off and put it over your shoulders</div>

Tatoos. Some might think it's something taboo, others might think of it as an art, a statement, or even a reminder. Few (or maybe a lot) got them on a drunk night or after losing a bet.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
For me, tattoos have always been something that I want to have. Maybe along time ago, I might think of it as a tramp stamp, but as time goes by and as I grow older.. Well, blame on fashion magazines and the internet, I found them becoming a <i><b>fashion statement</b></i>. Especially when those pics of Freja's float tattoo surfaced. MAN! I am hooked. If you search "Freja Beha" on google, her tattoos will be on her related search. She is my number one lesbian crush and my fav model and she has 16 tattoos. I think the most famous one would be this "float" tattoo, as it is the most visible one, and maybe 5-7 years ago during fashion week – street style photographers were swarming to take her pictures<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.carolinedaily.com/857219-3002.jpg?20120608" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://www.carolinedaily.com/857219-3002.jpg?20120608" data-original-height="427" data-original-width="640" height="424" width="640" /></a></div>
<a name='more'></a>Another tattoos that I like from hers is the one on her wrist that got publicity on Saint Laurent campaign. Super pretty and cool!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://img.over-blog.com/625x468/1/75/20/03/018/FREJA-BEHA-IN-SAINT-LAURENT-PARIS--PRE-FALL-2013-C-copie-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://img.over-blog.com/625x468/1/75/20/03/018/FREJA-BEHA-IN-SAINT-LAURENT-PARIS--PRE-FALL-2013-C-copie-2.jpg" data-original-height="468" data-original-width="624" height="474" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So because all of these street style pictures, editorials, and even pinterest – I really want to get one. It sounds stupid (and it is) however I want to make sure if I have something permanent on my body, it should be meaningful and I'm gonna make sure that I cannot see it, just in case I'll get bored</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The easiest one of course, to have a birthday or initials.. I find quotes are tricky as I'm scared in the next few years I won't even find them relatable. I saw this "never look back in anger" tattoo and I showed it to Ren and he laughed at me, he said "but you look back in anger" LULZ. But script tattoos (especially dainty ones) are very chic.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/cd/cc/fc/cdccfc7a86b8942333bacfc9f4f34e2a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="398" height="640" src="https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/cd/cc/fc/cdccfc7a86b8942333bacfc9f4f34e2a.jpg" width="423" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/77/88/e9/7788e92442ab10b957fb57a3d622d8cb.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="564" data-original-width="564" height="640" src="https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/77/88/e9/7788e92442ab10b957fb57a3d622d8cb.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I found the tattoo above really calming and somehow meaningful. One – I'm a florist, so this make sense. Second – it looks like the hands are healing as well, so it means we should take care of things, instead of destroying things. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This post was first drafted in <b>January 2017</b>.<br />
<br />
Hello guys! Right now I'm writing from Changi Airport! I'm in Singapore for 2 days for a work trip for CELINE –which is very special, cus it's my first work trip overseas with the current company I'm working for.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Another thing what makes it very special because in these 2 days, I'm feeling something that I haven't been feeling for a very long time. I feel very content with my life. The last time I felt it was like 2 years ago when I met my current boyfriend. It's not that I don't feel grateful for the past 2 years, I'm grateful for a lot of things, but this 'content' feeling – how to put it? It's different.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
In this post, I would like to share with you the first part of my career story – hope it's not too long and let's hope I can keep my mind focus writing this (not jumping around to other topics). I'm not saying I'm a professional in giving career advice – however since lots of you have been asking on Insta about my career thus... I will share with you my opinion, you can either agree or disagree but let's discuss nevertheless :)<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">2011 - Day 10 of My First Job</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<a name='more'></a>Anyways.. Other than being a blogger/influencer/ florist/etc currently I'm still working a full time job as a Marketing Manager in fashion retail industry –Why retail? The answer is as simple as because: <b>I love fashion</b>.<br />
<br />
I love fashion since I was a little girl, I like to see clothes, accessories, even got separated once from my mom in a department store because I was busy admiring them jewelries. So when I was still in high school, I said to myself, "I want to work at ZARA" – at that time I was so in love with ZARA (still until now). I really wanted to work at MAP (Mitra Adi Perkasa, the distributor company of Inditex group and other brands that you are very familiar with). Didn't really get why I want to work at ZARA, maybe just because I want to know everything all first hand from my favorite brand.<br />
<br />
But you know what? <i><b>Life doesn't always go like you plan it</b></i>. You wanted to work at ZARA and you ended up somewhere else.<br />
<br />
Career advice: First, <b><i>don't wait</i></b>. <b><i>The job you want is not going to wait for you</i></b>.<br />
<br />
After uni, you will feel like you need a break– I didn't work right away after I graduated too, instead I joined a cooking & baking class at Tokyo Cooking School for almost half a year. However, I kinda wish I work right after tho, getting a head start before all of my friends who are the same age.. It's a jungle out there, and there are a lot of people who wants the same job like you. So, in my opinion - if you really want a break, <b><i>do something that can improve your skills or expand your knowledge/network</i></b>.<br />
<br />
Within that period of break, y<b><i>ou can also spend it by finding what you want in life</i></b>. You don't need to think everything so far and in super details, but ask these simple questions, What do I like? What makes me happy the most? What I enjoy doing mostly? What do I hate? These answers helped me focus more on what I like. In 2010, I only know I like fashion and I want to watch front row and become a buyer (without actually knowing what the job scopes entail), <i><b>it's okay to not know first, you will learn more of it as time goes by</b></i>.<br />
<br />
<b>2011</b> – I started applying for jobs. I think it was September when I got my first job, back in 2009 when I started blogging, bloggers don't get paid much but it's still nice to have some side incomes. I applied to one place only as a merchandiser AND a marketing at MAP. I got call for both.<br />
<br />
I ended up taking the marketing interview and got accepted as Debenhams first ever Social Media executive. I managed marketing for their digital assets -facebook, twitter, and instagram! Instagram was not a big hit at that time. <i><b>Your first job will be the best part of your career journey</b></i>, <b><i>especially your colleagues</i></b>. Those people will be the ones who will always be in your heart (jungle i love you). I met some awesome colleagues who definitely open and change how I think about this world.<br />
<br />
I didn't end up not working at ZARA like I dreamed, and you know what? It's okay, <i><b>it's okay to settle down sometimes</b></i> (<b><span style="font-size: large;">but not anytime</span></b>, depending on situations etc, it was okay for me to settle down and not working at my dream brand at the time). It's okay because at least I AM NOW in the retail industry,<b><i> your first job can be your first stepping stone to greater opportunities</i></b>. <i><b>Pick it well, and perform damn well. </b></i><br />
<br />
<br />
I told myself, at least I still work in the same parent company, if it's meant to be, I will work at ZARA. ..<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
and which I did.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
3 years later.<br />

Remember Memoirs of a Geisha? If you haven't watched it – you should watch it. I've been a fan of Japanese culture like since forever, from manga, anime, to geisha – all those cultural related stuff. I love it. Everything is so well put together, meaningful, neat, like everything has its own purpose.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
There's a scene in the movie where Chiyo – running through these orange gates, ever since then I wanna do the same thing. I wanna run! And so I did. These orange gates can be seen at <i><b>Fushimi Inari Shrine</b></i>. How to get there? Very easy. Just take taxi – LOL (but taxi in Kyoto is much cheaper compared to Tokyo). There's a JR station at Fushimi Inari, so it's so easy to find it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
There are 2 gates, make sure you go to main one – there's a big gate, some modern building and you will arrive to the temple, then you can find the big map. You can see where you should go, lots of stairs and then you will find those 'smaller, tighter' orange gates where Chiyo run passed by.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
People will stop to take pictures, but trust me – it will be impossible to take pictures at the first gates. <b><i>Travel tips</i></b>: Don't bother to try. It will be kinda dark because the gates are short and tighter, kinda hard for the lights to get in. Just walk (along with hundreds other people), walk again you will find the first 'basecamp', i think there was another mini temple – and another gate! Bigger, and taller. Much more space, the road starts to incline. A bit of a hike, but from now on.. You can try to take pictures. Do not worry, if you walk along the way, you will find more gates, and more empty spaces to take picture</div>
<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">See? Clear, empty, spaces for you to take pics</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: center;">
See all the kanji writing on the gates? It's all on the backside of the gate, so if you are walking towards the gate (to hike up up up) you will not see any markings. Those markings are meant for people/companies who have donated throughout the times to the shrine (both money or even rice)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I didn't take the pic of the map, but here it is;</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://kathrynwarmstrong.files.wordpress.com/2015/04/fushimi-inari-taisha-e4bc8fe8a68be7a8b2e88db7e5a4a7e7a4be-map.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="508" data-original-width="800" height="406" src="https://kathrynwarmstrong.files.wordpress.com/2015/04/fushimi-inari-taisha-e4bc8fe8a68be7a8b2e88db7e5a4a7e7a4be-map.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Start from those blue arrows at the bottom – we walk to the right and see the double gates (left side for people who wanna go back to the main entrance, right side for you to walk right up!). Basically I managed to walk all the way San No Mine (two stops before the peak- Mt Inari), honestly if I were with Rhein and we started hike in the morning, I would go there and hike to the top of Mt Inari and finish all the gates. But since, I was with my family, I wore a dress & sandals, not proper sport shoes – it was raining, I didn't manage to hike and finish. Because after my last place, the stairs were pretty steep, it was like serious hiking with stairs. It was quite dark, honestly quite scary.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
But! I would definitely go back there again and try to finish everything... Hopefully I will come back soon! Let me know on the comment section if you've finished walking through all the gates! See you on the next #postcardfrom post!</div>

Konnichiwa everyone! I just got back from my Japan trip this morning at 4AM in the morning – at first I was like "4AM are you serious?" but after realising that the Ramadhan break is almost over, people will be swarming the airport, nah uh – 4AM was indeed the perfect time to come home. This morning, the airport, traffic going back home were empty. It only took me around 15 mins to get home. Went straight to bed once I got home.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
7 days, 6 nights – Started my #kerotravelseries with Kyoto. There was no direct flight to Kyoto, so we went to Osaka first and took a train to Kyoto. <b><i>Travel tips</i></b>: you don't need to buy your train tickets in Jakarta, you can just buy it on the spot. This way you can avoid missing your train, just in case you got delayed (which happened to me) – train station is directly connected to the airport terminal (only 2 minutes walk!). Price was around 3000 yen if I'm not wrong – you can buy either reserved seats or the regular seats. Price difference prolly twice of the regular seat tickets. Reserved seats means you don't need to worry about your seat location, you can stick together with your group. Regular seats, you will need to find your own seat. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
After 1H 30 mins-ish, we arrived in Kyoto and walked our way to the hotel. My family and I decided to stay at traditional style hotel – it was not super traditional, but still got the essence of it. We stayed at <i><b><a href="https://www.booking.com/hotel/jp/matsubaya-inn.en-gb.html?aid=311984;label=matsubaya-inn-n5zcfJ%2AzWIvdXO%2AaF75N5QS7891932793%3Apl%3Ata%3Ap1%3Ap2%3Aac%3Aap1t1%3Aneg%3Afi%3Atiaud-181873118643%3Akwd-22814417827%3Alp9072596%3Ali%3Adec%3Adm;sid=81cc8bd17a91da5a2d29cb69b5c40c1e;dest_id=-235402;dest_type=city;dist=0;hpos=1;room1=A%2CA;sb_price_type=total;srfid=d0f7c394c0e75415f73caaf5118306161352cbc2X1;srpvid=b13d096f90400084;type=total;ucfs=1&#hotelTmpl">Matsubaya Ryokan</a></b></i> (8-10 mins walk from the train station, Central exit). Funny enough – one of the receptionists is Indonesian. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
When my sister did the reservation, I think she chose the 'suite' room – so we got one of the biggest room there. We have 2 rooms, 1 with twin beds, 1 with 3 tatami and a small desk and 4 muji style chairs for us to sit, snack, & drink tea, 1 bathroom (<b><i>Japanese bathroom is quite interesting</i></b>, they have this deep tub (deeper than your normal bath tub, that usually used by all family members to bathe in without changing the water –thats what my brother said), and 2 toilets (the best).<br />
<br />
My sister said they have a room that accommodate up to 8 people! For me, I was really happy with our choice. It was no lavish 5 stars hotel, but it was clean, minimal, neat, and has 2 CLEAN toilets (thank God!). I really like it – no complains at all. Honestly I would stay there again. I really like the concept of this tatami, like sleeping on the floor.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
One of the reasons why we decided to Kyoto is because of : I wanna be dressed in Kimono and shit, go to Fushimi Inari and run like Chiyo, and see the bamboo forest. But we only got one full day – we arrived around 4pm in Kyoto (we used Cathay, got delayed for 2 hours so...), so first day was pretty much looking for food, snacks (HOLLLAAA!!!), and udon dinner. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Second day, I booked a <a href="http://instagram.com/sweet.escape">Sweet Escape</a> session to take a family picture of us in Kimono! <a href="http://instagram.com/studiovera">Albert</a>, our photographer is a student in Japan, helped us book the kimono rental place, which was located right across Starbucks in Gion. <b><i>Travel tips</i></b>: the rental fee starts around 7000yen for kimono (4000yen for yukata) - you can wear it all day long, can return it at 9PM at night.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Wi0MWRkBHKU/WVhQV-aL6HI/AAAAAAAACLs/dr3boHPfNZULdY4gdPR7L4SpxtSPPYVsACLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_4307.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Wi0MWRkBHKU/WVhQV-aL6HI/AAAAAAAACLs/dr3boHPfNZULdY4gdPR7L4SpxtSPPYVsACLcBGAs/s640/IMG_4307.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I was torned between this floral pattern kimono and bird pattern – decided to wear this one because it blends well with the rest of kimonos that my family wore. Gave a little accent with pattern clashing for the obi. Brought my own Cult Gaia bag (such an 'it' bag of the summer – it's getting so OOC).</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After 2 hours taking pictures, our hungry faces started to show. We decided to go back, change back to our clothes, and head back again to Gion</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Why Gion again? When we went the first time to take our family pics, we didnt get the chance to really see around – so we walked around again, check out the Hermes pop up store, ate gold foil covered ice cream, and went to Fushimi Inari (will dedicate a post for this). We ended the day by eating at <b style="font-style: italic;">Katsukura – super good. </b>Something like Katsusei in Plaza Senayan, only better. <i><b>Travel tips</b></i>: try to arrive early for dinner/lunch, eat there during weird hours, 11:30 for lunch, or 5:30 for dinner. The queue tends to get crazy! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
On the next day... we decided to leave for Tokyo early since my brother need to get to class. Will post more of Kyoto soon!</div>

As a florist, seeing flowers being turned into something very interesting is something that really please my eyes. Especially like when Jonathan Anderson made a LOEWE Calendar filled with super cool flower arrangements shot by Steven Meisel, or when Dries Van Noten had "frozen flowers" on the runway similar like what Raf Simons did when he was still in Jil Sander. Anyways, flowers are pretty.</div>

Back to Rodarte, they just debuted their first runway in Paris! Usually they would have their shows in New York during NYFW, but this time, Rodarte (and Proenza Schoulder) decided to take it to city of love. And boy, it did not disappoint.<br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
As usual, the collections are very close to what Rodarte has always have. Filled with sheer, frills, and feminine yet edgy touch. Honestly, I think the collections and presentation are very instagramable – which is good, your first Paris show better make it viral! However, between florals and laces – it was indeed a very pretty collection<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oLHWdjQWWOM/WVo2yj67o8I/AAAAAAAACMI/oq6lIhd1tTA3hZ7Ax704B1tI1mQbVv8OACLcBGAs/s1600/rodarte-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="689" data-original-width="960" height="459" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oLHWdjQWWOM/WVo2yj67o8I/AAAAAAAACMI/oq6lIhd1tTA3hZ7Ax704B1tI1mQbVv8OACLcBGAs/s640/rodarte-1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
From what I assume – white leather on look #4 (first look on the left), a very daring look, feminine shape with frills/ruffles and asymmetrical mermaid cut quite left a strong image for a start. The collection followed with numbers of lace, floral embellishments, and even bralette and sheer skirt set that reminds me of a Marc Jacobs Daisy ad.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RhBgHIMM2q8/WVo6yjH1J2I/AAAAAAAACMQ/dF_6RIZaB_UyXvVNvh9wrFS4Bh8AS0seACLcBGAs/s1600/rodarte-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="666" data-original-width="960" height="444" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RhBgHIMM2q8/WVo6yjH1J2I/AAAAAAAACMQ/dF_6RIZaB_UyXvVNvh9wrFS4Bh8AS0seACLcBGAs/s640/rodarte-2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
A collection is not complete with black palette. I love how Rodarte plays with colors and furs combined with those sheer / lace fabrics. Very feminine, yet very edgy. Especially with the bird of paradise pattern – Givenchy circa 2012</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-P7gpQO_0MHQ/WVo-AFK36zI/AAAAAAAACMY/yMzDqB3jc2oJYxzCo62MJKZFl2YO6x0oACLcBGAs/s1600/rodarte-3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="811" data-original-width="1136" height="456" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-P7gpQO_0MHQ/WVo-AFK36zI/AAAAAAAACMY/yMzDqB3jc2oJYxzCo62MJKZFl2YO6x0oACLcBGAs/s640/rodarte-3.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Baby breaths on steroid. Totally doable for a shoot here in Jakarta – please hit @studiojiro for this kind of project! and of course, millenial pink. Who can resist? </div>

<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8WfjXxT2Ecg/WRgzsoa0OsI/AAAAAAAACKs/YgyFJiSGS04Pc21eguRwGe5-DIakIVLQwCLcB/s1600/IMG_0356.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8WfjXxT2Ecg/WRgzsoa0OsI/AAAAAAAACKs/YgyFJiSGS04Pc21eguRwGe5-DIakIVLQwCLcB/s640/IMG_0356.JPG" width="420" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i><span style="font-size: x-small;">Dress <a href="https://www.instagram.com/kuro__official/">KURO</a> // Jacket ALAND // Shoes MARC JACOBS </span></i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i><span style="font-size: x-small;">Bag LOEWE // Sunglasses GENTLE MONSTER</span></i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Often we wear black because it's the easiest decision. However, little black dress is more than just an easy piece. It is truly a classic, and with the right styling.. There are so many look that you can create for multiple events. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br />Few years back, I almost had no black outfit. I don't really like to wear black, because I think it's too depressing. However, eventho I didn't like black, I still loved black dresses. I was so into that 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' idea. It's so classy – back then and now, my style identity still remain the same. I always like that cool sense, feminine yet boyish look. Pairing up cool pieces with totally classic item is something that I always like to do. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So for instance, this very feminine flare cut black dress from <a href="https://www.instagram.com/kuro__official/">KURO</a> – I chose a vintage pink denim jacket that I got few years back in Aland Korea (need to put some pins, cus they're sick!). What to wear? Not heels, but a pair of white sneakers. Really love how it looks at the end... What do you think? You can also match it with bomber jackets or even blazers...</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zU2AhSbmhbk/WRgzpVMH7FI/AAAAAAAACKo/TanSqAIwNGAgrxsfEf3gXDiffHJYRPLMwCLcB/s1600/IMG_0358.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zU2AhSbmhbk/WRgzpVMH7FI/AAAAAAAACKo/TanSqAIwNGAgrxsfEf3gXDiffHJYRPLMwCLcB/s640/IMG_0358.JPG" width="477" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
For a different occasion, of course you can still wear that little black dress with just a simple pointed toe heels (they make your legs look longer!)... </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Few months back, I was— and still am honored to launch my first collaboration collection with <a href="http://revesstudio.com/">Reves Studio</a>. I believe that many of you should have known Reves by now, if not, let me introduce you to the dynamic duo behind the label. Both name Karina, started Reves with the purpose of dressing women with the essential designs to look sophisticated and classy. No doubt these two girls have won women heart with their signature designs (fyi, they always have suits and signature white shirts in every collection!), they have also won Cleo Fashion Award last year throughout their journey in the fashion industry –they sure are the dream team !</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The collaboration collection focuses silhouettes and semi-fitted fittings. The designs mostly suit working attire with a selection of basic and essential colors that can be easily matched for your day-to-day OOTD. Why suits? Cus I love them, I love how I can wear my suits for either formal or casual events. You can check the full collection <a href="http://revesstudio.com/content/27-revesxkero">here</a>. If you notice, every look has v-neck line– cause it's my favorite neck line as it shows a little bit without giving too much exposure. When we did the designs, the outerwear are easily styled, can be worn multi-way ! what’s not to like about that?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
